My family was the proud recipient of the Family Award at the Whalebone Classic held last weekend at Cottesloe. I would like to thank you very much for your donation of the prize we won, a 'Surfing in the '60's' Clock, which now hangs proudly in our home.
All five of us (husband: Victor, 3 sons: Daniel, Jonathon & Hayden, and myself) have been members of Cottesloe Longboard Club almost since its conception ... it is the camaraderie of the Club which is so special to us - they are a fantastic bunch of people who are generous with both their time and spirit ... we are especially pleased to see our teenage sons, along with so many other youngsters, participating in healthy (mentally & physically) Club activities. With the adults setting such good examples, these young people are developing attitudes and manners to make us all proud. The Whalebone Classic is a huge event on our Club calendar & it is always well-run (many thanks to Peter Dunn). We were very lucky to get warm sunny weather this year and ... I witnessed a sea of very happy spectators and many competitors enjoying waves in a glassy ocean. Even the dolphin got in on the action on Saturday, sharing waves in a couple of the heats. Magic!
Garry, once again, we thank you very much for your prize. Without sponsors such as yourself we wouldn't have the Whalebone Classic, and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Just a quick email to say how much
we love the painting/print frame etc. We moved it into the kitchen family
room area, because we spend a lot of time there and it's nice to look at.

Australia in the 60s must have
been great. I bet it still is, but your work is great. Thanks for the compliment
on what I do. It is nice to be appreciated by fellow surf artists. Sometimes
there is so much cool stuff that goes on in the surfing world, I get overwhelmed,
and don't know what to paint next. I have to remember to do them one at
a time. |

Longboarder from the Tonga trip.... which by the way we have successfully
bid to have in Australia next year at Broken Heads (first time) - Billabong
