Cronulla Point Going Off From Garry Birdsall's series of paintings: Surfing in the '60s. I grew up surfing at Cronulla. Its sweeping sandy beaches gave up wonderful waves for my mates and I to ride. From time to time strong south winds blue up the coast and caused huge swells to form off Cronulla Point. The sight of these awesome wave lines marching in from the horizon was an overwhelming challenge that few of us could resist. Cronulla artist and surfing legend Garry Birdsall joined
Cronulla surf club in the 1950's and was one of Cronulla's first Point
riders. His love of art and his passion for surfboard riding are combined
in this historical depiction of Cronulla Point Going Off. Large original watercolour painting. Prices include GST and freight in Australia. For overseas prices please email: Garry and Maria © Garry Birdsall |
